Will and Deja

I am so excited to share this wedding!  I had such a fun time planning and creating with the Bride for this one...and Will and Deja were wonderful to work with!

I loved their adorable cake topper from Disneyland!

First of Many...

When my son turned one year old, I knew I wanted to throw a huge party...not only to celebrate his first year of life, but also to celebrate that my husband and I had made it through our first year as parents!  I was too excited about this...I wanted the first birthday party I threw as a mommy to be spectacular!  The Mickey Mouse theme was a given...considering what huge Disney fans we are!  I'm embarrassed to admit that I probably had more fun than the birthday boy...but I think he'll enjoy looking at the pictures when he gets older!

It all started with the invitations!  Black and white cardstock, thin red and black polka dot
ribbons and photos by JC Penney Portraits.  Colt's birthday hat and shirt were found on Etsy.com.

Inside of the invites...found the Disney font online!

Mickey Mouse bowls from Target and picture frames from Disneyland.

Mickey Mouse sandwiches!

Colt got his own "smush cake" to eat and "smush" with his hands!

The rest of the guests got Mini Mickey cupcakes!

These were so fun and easy to make!

The tables were covered in white and black tablecloths and red and yellow "Mickey buttons"...

...and each table had a Mickey balloon bouquet!

Just before we lit his candle...

Favors

I used a Mickey Mouse punch and a 3/4 inch round punch to make the tags.

The guests signed both a mat frame and a tablecloth...a tradition that my Mom started with me!

Non-Traditional Announcements

Totally love these vellum graduation announcements I did for my friend Caitlyn!  I love that the picture she sent to her friends and family is a better size for framing...different from the traditional wallet size!

Charles and Jenny

I am so happy I had the opportunity to help with my friends Charles and Jenny's wedding!  I enjoyed playing the slightly less stressful role of right hand woman to my friend and fellow event planner Melissa's headmistress of wedding plans!  One of the things I did for this particular wedding ended up being one of the creations I'm most proud of to date.  The Bride asked for a decorated aisle...so I set to work to give her just that!

I spent about an hour and a half in this position...but SO worth it!

6 gallon-size bags of pink petals later: the finished product!

Adventures in Photography

I spend a great deal of my free time looking at photography blogs...specifically engagement and wedding photography blogs.  I don't consider myself to be a great photographer but I am facinated by those that are!  And so when a friend needed engagement photos taken for her wedding invitations I was making, I jumped at the chance to "give it a shot"...especially since she wanted them taken at Disneyland!  So I and my trusty little Canon Rebel made the trip to Disneyland to try my hand at being one of those great photographers I follow on the internet...not sure I have a future in professional photography, but I definitely had a great time pretending!  And my friend ended up happy with the result...a picture of the two of them in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle to go on their wedding invitations.
Here are a few of my favorites:

Anna's Luau Shower

Since I never had sisters of my own, I am so glad I married a man with 3 of them.  And I was so honored to be asked to help throw my sister-in-law a baby shower for her second child...and her first baby girl!
The shower was Luau themed and I was excited to decorate with bright colors!  My favorite decoration?  The clothesline with all of the colorful summer outfits...I can't wait to see my new little niece wearing them!

These diaper cupcakes were the centerpieces!

Made from a newborn size diaper and a baby washcloth...

...topped with little drink umbrellas!

My Husband allowed me to use his surfboard in my decorating.
